And so it begins....

Yesterday marked the start of the 2009-10 academic year and the Swimming & Diving season. The team was altogether on pool deck for the first time on Monday afternoon for a team meeting and will be in the water starting today. Even with the 17 new faces, who are lovingly referred to as the "newcomers", everyone seemed excited and eager to get to work. There will be plenty of sore muscles in the days and weeks ahead, but also big improvements both in the pool and in the weight room.

We would like to take this time to introduce the newest member of our coaching staff. James Carey has joined our staff as the graduate assistant and will be with the team for the next 2 years while he works towards this master's degree in higher education. He is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated this past June from Ohio University with a degree in recreational studies. He swam for 2 seasons at Ohio before the men's program was cut in 2007.
